Great case for protecting my iPhone 16 but I am almost positive it is overheating my phone. It's hot most of the day and I have no apps open

I got this case primarily because of the camera protection, and also because of the robust corner protection. I already had a Gripmunk case from Smartish. The Gripmunk case was very nice; comfortable, and somewhat more pocketable, but I often use my phone in gritty and dusty environments, and constantly move it in and out of various pockets. The Gripmunk case had only a slightly raised ridge around the camera lenses, and they appeared to be quite vulnerable. The camera door on this case is sturdy and strong, and has substantial raised areas surrounding it providing additional protection. The cover has a nice, soft lining. That said, it is an extra step a kind of a pain to open it. The hinge is quite stiff (it needs to be since it doubles as a kickstand), and the door also resists opening because it is recessed into the soft surrounding ridges. It takes two hands and a strong fingernail to open. This could really use some improvement. The fingernail area is somewhat open to the lens cavity, so it isn't fully dust or moisture proof. Keep in mind that the door will need to be opened to use the flashlight, and when opened it extends past the edge of the phone. It works very well as a kickstand in landscape mode, but is pointless for portrait mode since the phone is upside down and most apps won't rotate 180 degrees. The are two small holes in the lower right corner for using a strap. They are quite small, and I found it tedious to thread the small string from my wrist strap through the holes. Once attached, it works quite well and I use it all the time. The USB C port plug is effective and welcome, but like the camera door, it is stiff and requires a strong fingernail to open. Once open, it has to be held down to make room for the cable. A bit clunky. The buttons all work with the case, but there are a few issues. Compared with the Gripmunk, I find most buttons a bit over sensitive, and I'm often activating them unintentionally. The camera control cutout is too small and too narrow, and it makes managing the settings too fiddly and requires too much pressure to get past the small, stiff and raised cutout. I may cut some of it away. The Gripmunk is much better in this area. The case is easy to put on and it fits well overall. The extra protection adds less bulk than I had expected, and the grip is good. None of the parts interfere with taking it in and out of my pocket. That said, I'm disappointed that the edge around the screen isn't raised more. The screen protection feels pretty skimpy, and the thin edge near the camera control is weak and vulnerable. For a case with such substantial corner buffers, the screen needs similar attention. On the whole I like the case, especially the lens protection. I haven't used any MagSafe accessories and can't speak to those. Wireless charging works fine through the case using my old Anker 5w Qi stand in either orientation, but correct positioning is essential. Because of the many fiddly flaws, and the minimal screen protection, I give the case a 3, maybe 3 1/2. For lens protection, it's a 5.
