Portefeuille MagFlip avec porte-étiquette AirTag

FAQ

Is an Apple AirTag included with this wallet?

No. The AirTag is sold separately. This wallet includes a built-in hidden compartment designed to hold one Apple AirTag. You need to purchase an AirTag from Apple or an authorized retailer and insert it into the slot yourself. The box comes with everything else: the wallet body, the 5-card storage, the RFID-blocking card, the stand, and the 3000g magnets.

Can I track this wallet with Apple Find My?

Yes, but only after you insert your own Apple AirTag into the built-in slot. The wallet itself does not contain a tracking chip. Once an AirTag is placed inside, you can track the wallet's location through Apple's Find My network on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The product page note "Does Not support Find My function" refers to the wallet hardware alone, not the AirTag you add.

Why is an AirTag slot better than a wallet with built-in Find My?

An AirTag slot gives you two advantages over wallets with built-in tracking chips:

  • Replaceable battery. The AirTag uses a standard CR2032 battery that you can swap in seconds. Wallets with built-in Find My chips have sealed batteries that cannot be replaced. Once they die, the tracking stops permanently.
  • Upgradeable. If Apple releases a new AirTag with improved range or features, you can simply swap in the new one. A wallet with a sealed chip cannot be upgraded.

The trade-off is that you need to purchase the AirTag separately (~$29 for a single AirTag from Apple).

What is the difference between this wallet and the standard MagFlip Wallet?

Both share the same core features: 3000g magnetic hold, 5-card storage, RFID-blocking card, multi-angle stand, and MagSafe compatibility. The differences are:

  • AirTag Version: Includes a hidden AirTag compartment for Find My tracking. Slightly thicker due to the AirTag slot. Available in 2 colors (Black and Gold).
  • Standard MagFlip: No AirTag slot, no tracking capability. Slightly thinner profile. Available in 7 colors.

Choose the AirTag version if you want location tracking. Choose the standard MagFlip if you prefer a slimmer wallet or do not need tracking.

Is this wallet thicker than the standard MagFlip?

Yes. The AirTag compartment adds extra thickness compared to the standard MagFlip Wallet. Some users have noted the wallet feels bulkier, especially with a full load of cards plus an AirTag. If a slim profile is your priority, consider the standard MagFlip instead. If tracking and loss prevention matter more than slimness, the added thickness is a reasonable trade-off.

How many cards does the wallet hold?

SUPCASE rates the wallet for 5 cards. This includes the RFID-blocking card that comes in the box, leaving 4 open slots for your credit cards, IDs, and transit passes. The locking mechanism keeps cards secure and prevents them from sliding out. A small notch at the bottom allows you to push cards out when needed.

Does the wallet work as a phone stand?

Yes. The wallet folds into a multi-angle tripod stand that supports both portrait and landscape viewing. It lifts the phone off the surface for a more comfortable viewing angle. The stand mechanism stays hidden when the wallet is closed. This function works identically to the standard MagFlip Wallet's stand.
